Work to capture the birthdays of everyone on your customer list. Send not only birthday wishes but also half-birthday wishes with a birthday offer.

The calendar gives you a plethora of marketing events. As the major holidays approach, everyone is talking about and thinking about Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year. Use these holidays to promote your business.

Also use some obscure holidays to attract attention. A great source for finding obscure holidays is http://www.brownielocks.com.

Did you know that February is national “Adopt a Rabbit” month? Or that May 6th is national “No Diet Day”?

One of my clients is Zach Wilsterman at Profiles Tool and Engineering. Many of his clients are engineers. We designed a complete promotion around Pi Day on March 14 (3.14, get it?). Zach topped it off by lazing the Pi symbol on real pies and delivered them to his best clients.

Be creative with obscure holidays and you can entertain your clients and separate yourself from your competitors and have them scratching their heads.
