Here is a question posed in the No BS Marketing Letter by a new member to Dan Kennedy: "There are so many things I can see that need done to make my business successful. How do I choose THE ONE THING TO START WITH?"
Dan Kennedy's answer was... You don't. The desire for 'one thing'... for a nice, neat, orderly step-by-step path is "Loser" thinking - it's ordinary thinking and it can destroy your chances of success. Instead, you want to take massive action on a number of fronts all at the SAME TIME!
Here's a real world example: when Lee Iacocca stepped in to save Chrysler, he simultaneously...
* Re-negotiated debt with banks,
* Re-negotiated union contracts,
* Sold the government on lending,
* Created all new advertising,
* Created a new warranty, etc.
If there really was ONE THING to do or even do first, more than 5% of business owners in any field would be doing well. They are NOT!
Forget all about choosing one thing to start with. It's more like starting and pushing a mess of initiatives, and then as you go sorting out which earn and deserve more attention than others.
