There seems to be a bias against reaping the rewards of success these days. I honestly find it extremely disturbing. Many people find it preferable to do just enough to simply "get by." Apparently they're either scared of taking the risk to achieve more, or scared of being the target of envy by those who don't have the guts to put themselves out there.

The way I see it, "scared behavior" always loses.

In football, the coach with no confidence in his Quarterback, who sends him in "not to lose," ALWAYS sets his team up for a big loss. Yeah, I'm talking about the 2012 AZ Cardinals.

To achieve business growth, I believe you MUST play to win. Either commit wholeheartedly to a project, take the necessary risks, and do everything possible to win - or don't do anything at all. You can't scrimp, cut corners, or behave like a timid mouse waiting for "perfect"... timing, funding, implementation, whatever.

The reason that some business owners DO hit the big time and achieve stellar results is because they have decided to do whatever's necessary - no matter how difficult - to achieve the goal they've set out to accomplish. Sure, it's tough. But when you achieve what others find impossible to achieve, the rewards can be tremendous.
