One of the unsung heroes of "getting stuff done" is the old fashioned tool known as a "checklist."
Personally, I LOVE checklists - in fact, I've found in running a business that having important processes that I use over and over put down as a checklist makes life soooooooooooo much easier.
Of course, one of the most vital processes to your business relates to how you run your marketing campaigns. There are many different choices in terms of media, market, offer, etc. to manage, that just getting something done can be a challenge.
To make my life easier (and it will make yours simpler as well), here's a very simple 4-step marketing campaign checklist compliments of master marketer Dan Kennedy.
1. Who - you decide on who you will craft a promotion for... and the more specific the better! You can't be all things to all people, nor do you want to. Pick out your ideal, "Slam-Dunk" customer for your promotion and focus like a laser on designing a campaign for that person.
2. What - decide exactly what you intend to offer, along with details like pricing, scarcity, deadline, etc. Make your offer the absolute best you can - put yourself in your prospect's shoes and design the offer so it's an absolutely no-brainer!
3. How - Figure out how you plan to conduct the campaign. Will it be email only? Print? Pay Per Click? Advertisements in local media? Nail this down.
4. Do - This is the most important step... DO! A plan is only a plan until you put it into action. And don't go crazy trying to get every last detail ironed out to perfection. As General Patton put it: "A good plan violently executed right now is far better than a perfect plan executed next week."
Who, What, How, Do - go through these checklist items with each and every marketing campaign you work on. I guarantee you'll be way better prepared to make great results happen.
